Scientists succeeded in making oxygen on the surface of Mars

When NASA's Perseverance rover arrived on Mars in 2021, it carried with it a machine named Moxie (Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment).

This machine, the size of a lunch box, is now producing as much oxygen on the surface of Mars as a small tree on Earth.

This machine has been producing oxygen in the carbon dioxide atmosphere of Mars since February last year.

The results of research in this regard have been revealed in the journal Science Advances.

The research stated that 7 different experiments proved that moxibustion produced 6 grams of oxygen every hour and that too in all kinds of environments.

The researchers of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology said that this machine is doing its job well, day, night, or in all kinds of temperatures.

The researchers suggested that such large machines could be sent to Mars to increase the amount of oxygen before sending humans to the planet.

They expect this system to help produce enough oxygen on Mars to be sufficient for humans.

The researchers said that this is the first time we have succeeded in making oxygen in this way on a planet other than Earth.
